THE EUCHARIST/
HOLY COMMUNION

Grade two children in our three parish schools (St. Bernadette, St. James & Mother Teresa) are eligible to receive the Sacraments of Confession and Communion this school year. 

If you are a registered parishioner and your child does not attend one of our parish schools or attends a public school, you must register your child in our catechism class.  Please call the parish office for more information.  

All students are expected to attend mass each Sunday.

I - Children not baptized in the Catholic Church who wish to receive Holy Communion 

 


 

Children must also prepare themselves for Baptism or Reception into the Church, First Confession and First Holy Communion. Children preparing for Baptism or Reception into the Catholic Church and Confirmation follow the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children Program (RCIC). If your son or daughter was baptized in another Christian denomination, please bring his/her baptismal certificate with you to this meeting.

II - Boys and Girls who are baptized members of the Catholic Church 

 

 

Children may choose to receive the Sacrament of The Holy Eucharist in their Grade 2 year. 

Catholic School Students
Students who are in our parish Catholic Schools receive their catechetical preparation for the Sacrament at School. 

Public School Students 

Students who attend Public Schools or Catholic schools outside the parish boundaries receive their catechetical preparation at the Parish. The Catechetical Program for Public School students who are baptized members of the Catholic Church and who wish to receive their First Communion begins in the new year.  All Public School Students who wish to receive this sacrament follow this program.

III - Parish Program for Preparation for First Communion

 

Catholic and Public School students also participate in the Parish program of preparation for First Communion . All students are expected to attend mass each Sunday.
