Father Sean Jacob

Fr. Sean Raphael Jacob was born in Mumbai, India and at 3 years old emigrated to Nairobi, Kenya with his family where they spent the next seven and a half years. Following their stay in Kenya, Sean’s family emigrated to Canada in 2001 and settled down in Mississauga where he completed his elementary, high school and university education graduating from University of Toronto, Mississauga with a Bachelor of Arts. During these years, he was also involved with the youth group at his home parish of Cristo Rei.

Following his graduation from university, Sean worked for the ‘Totus Tuus’ summer camp which runs primarily in the Archdiocese of Toronto, with intentions of returning to school in the fall semester. Through his experience at the camp, Sean felt a call toward the seminary to explore the priestly vocation. During his time in the seminary, the many experiences formed and deepened his understanding of priesthood which included an affirmation of the vocation during his internship at St. Edward the Confessor parish.

Fr. Sean was ordained in 2023 at St. Michaels Cathedral Basilica by His Eminence Cardinal Francis Leo and was assigned to Holy Family parish in Whitby where he served as associate pastor for the last two years.
